I am re-designing a mini flashlight : Spartanian II. In the old version, it doesn't have a lanyard hole, and now I hope to add a place where we can use a lanyard.
Here is my recent design:

The gap is 2mm.

How do you think about this design? Is this useful or not?

I think the lanyard could slip out of the gap if there is enough slack in the line.  What about eliminating the flat top and just putting a hole in the stem?  If that makes any sense.

Have you ever looked at the Leatherman Serac Flashlights? They have a lanyard attachment that fits into the gap. I don't know if it's trademarked or not, but it would be ideal!

Maybe put a hole through the part you want to wrap the lanyard around. Thread the lanyard through there and it won't come off and you can still stand it on end.

Common sense ..... so rare, it's virtually a super power.
