MMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Crunchy!
on: May 06, 2007, 02:32:36 AM
Well, here I am thinking about carrying my Crunch for a little while despite thinking previously that it was only good for specialized use.  I pulled it out the other day to play with a bit (practice my one handed opening stuff) and I think about the only thing it really lacks is scissors.  Otherwise, it's pretty handy, despite having half the normal number of tools, since there are only tools in one handle.

Of course there is the screwdriver slot in the opposite handle, and a wire stripper in the center and handle junction, so it seems like they have put an awful lot of thought into it's design.

I think I may have to spend some more quality time with it....

I think Irwin made a similar tool...I tried to find it now on Amazon.com but I coulden't...it was called the "Toolbox" or something.  It had a weird jaw shape to if I remember..

Thred hijack!  Here's what I was talking about..never handled one myself, although the locking pliers I own by Irwin are good.

That looks very similar to one of the Schrades... ST6 I think....

I like the folding head of the Crunch.  Other than the lump of metal sticking out the side, the Crunch is the same size as the PST.

I used it right into a box yesterday to go to On Scene Tactical to have a kydex sheath made for another lucky member.

I've carried my crunch a fair few times when i'm on my bike (with a few standard hex bits) not had to use it yet, well apart from sharpening pencils in lectures! But its nice to know that should i need it, it's there. And its great for confusing people who are used to the standard butterfly opening multi's.
