Sideclip Notch?
on: September 17, 2006, 10:34:06 PM
(This is probably a stupid question, but here goes anyhow.......)

On the SideClip, what is the small notch for on the edge of one handle?

It probably says what the notch is in the instructions. Which I don't have. Who still has SideClip paperwork? Kap? Joe?

I just made this into it's own thread since the topic kind of changed, and I am going to try and e-mail my contact at Leatherman for info.

I don't own one so can't check this idea, could it be for mounting the tool adapter?

I thought that too, and/or maybe acces to a screw or something that attaches the clip?  I don't have mine yet so I'm just taking shots in the dark too..

I see a part of the tool adapter that looks to me like it would fit right in that notch, whatcha think?

According to my contact at Leatherman:

The simple answer is it accommodates the tab on the original tool adaptor to keep it from moving around when you're using it.

Looks like we got the official word that you are right!

Is there a difference between the original tool adapte and the new one?

I need to know which one to get for my sideclip.

Apparently there are two different Tool Adapter kits. One looks to be for the Wave only, so I'm guessing the "Standard" one is for everything else.
