Register your Leatherman Online
on: January 27, 2008, 04:51:36 AM
Has anyone done this?
It's not really registering anything for anything, they're trying to get marketing feedback.

Which of these describes your household (this is relevant to my warranty...How?)

Shop by Catalog/Mail
Have a Cat
Shop via the Internet
Own a pickup truck
Member of Frequent Flyer Program
Participate in chatrooms, blogs, online forums
Have a Dog

They also ask questions about my Spouse, my income, and other things that don't seem particularly pertinent to Multitools.

Anyway, off you go kids, fill out the nice mans quiz and take his candy.

I didn't even know there's a register online option. But unless I'm getting free stuff for my time and info, no thanks.  :D

I registered my first MT, the Supertool, then my Kick. After that I failed to register my other new LM MTs.

Registering pretty much anything I buy always gets me a mailbox of interesting catalogs a few weeks later. I do it every chance I get.

Maybe.

The LED modules are marked with a date code but it can off by a few months to a few years depending on when and where you buy the light. You may want to register it and keep the original reciept just in case you have an issue before the 1-year (scoff!) warranty runs out. I recall reading that it does speed up the warranty process if it's already in their system.

That said, I didn't bother to register mine yet.  :-X

I might do that soon then.  I keep meaning to do my Fenix to get the extra 6 months warranty but I have still not done it.  :-\

How long is the standard warranty?

You get 1 years full warranty (18 months if you register) and then after that they will repair it for free, but will charge for the parts.

I really think that's a bunch of bull. If you ever took apart a fenix you'll see there's no easy way to replace any parts besides click switch. That is if you can even open up the head, which is glued shut in majority of them. So either the dealer will be nice and just give you a new light, or charge for parts that cost almost as much as the whole light.

Was thinking about registering my new LM today....according to LM they do a monthly drawing for a  LM prize package if you register your tool, but I haven't heard them sending or posting the winners name or at least the location. What do you think about that guys, is this for real or just a trick to get information from users?

I never register anything. Most of the times, they sell your information to "approved" clients. Beside, the last thing I want is junk mail flooding my mailbox/e-mail account.
A little Leatherman information.
