hello all: Mike here from SE MN.. just looking around, seems i got the multi-tool bug a month ago.. unknown why??  10 years ago i was gifted a BuckTool. about 2 years ago, it broke.. one of the locking things broke on one side, all the tools flop around now,, haven't carried it sence..
well,, I was always wanting a Leatherman, I visited local hardware store,, got me a Kick... carried it, played with it, actualy used it several times the past month, home projects, even rescued me once with a loose battery terminal on my Jeep.... after that, i was hooked.. went out and got myself a Surge.. now that's a multi-tool..

I have determined that the Kick will be my dress carry, and my Surge will be the EDC. at least when I know I might be using the heavy duty tools.. ie: going to the daughters house, working in my shop, and the Kick when just running around town, hanging out as they say..

I called up Buck and they said the BuckTool was discontinued.. but to send the broken tool in and they will replace it with a 730 model !! it'll cost me $4.95 to mail it in.. what a deal..

oh, I'm a LEO for the past 17 years. just moved into town from living on a farm the past 25 odd years up here..  I collect old antique engines, ride a Ural motorcycle, ham radio op. have 4 great kids, 2 grand kids...   ya, i keep busy..

who ever runs this board,, thanks... i've been lurking for a couple weeks.. looks good..

I'll post picks when I line my collection up..

Is the BuckTool broken completely beyond repair then? :-\

well,,, i can't fix it,, what is broken is the locking spring clip part on one side. i guess if i had that part, I could replace that w/one threw rivit..
I was going to send it to Buck, if someone wants it, and trade I'd do that... i know i'm new to the boards,, nobody knows me, i'm an unknown,,
so anyway, i'll be around. I'll hang on to it for a couple months and see what happens..

when it was new: in 2006.. nice and shiny:
I bought it in Spring Valley, MN from Dave's Cycle Shop.  my son saw the Urals first, Dave had a camo one out front, he thought it was a .mil bike. I stopped in looked at it and others, took some lit. and mulled over it over the winter, spring time, I went and picked this one up,,
If I went with a KawSuzHondaHD bike, I could only take one of the boys at a time and that's it.. with this I could take both boys, camping stuff, and everything else at the same time...  I ride it to work 10 months out of the year. I discovered that the Russian motors don't like 25 degrees.. had to ride home with the enricheners on..


going camping... the Ural is the Multi-Tool of the motorcycle world


my small but working collection.
that razer folder is very nice, it has a money clip on one side. very light, very sharp, very light. the black folder is my duty knife. just a cheapo auto blade. but it works. I used to carry a SpiderCo clipit Endura, but I broke the plastic pocket clip after about 10 years.
the BuckTool has seen the last few years in my fishing box, that's why the rust is showing..
