Same model I EDC everyday.  I wish I had some funds as I would buy another just to have.

Walmatr bought a fairly big supermarket chain over here called ASDA (third biggest I think?), and the Walmart logo seems to be getting more prominent on their signs and advertising, but so far they haven't had a major impact I don't think.

I doubt we'll get these deals ever, as Leatherman, Vic etc have sole import agreements with UK importers, which is a bloody shame.

I used to come here a lot.

We have Wall Mart up here...but the Canadian branch is nothing like what they have in the US. In fact, ours is generally down right pathetic for stuff like this. In other words, it would be nice if they stocked the same stuff as the American chain.
A little Leatherman information.

+1 on that!
Our current Walmart has become severely pathetic with knives and tools.  All pretty much
out of stock.  Apparently though the new Superstore Walmart is being built as I type so will be
interesting to see what they stock.

I believe we have one of the largest in Ohio. The bad thing is I can see Walmart and Menards if I step out my door and look down the road. Its not annoyingly close but i can see the back of the building when the leaves fall of and look thru the park.

I know. If this was the regular Spirit or the Spirit X, I would be returning my Wave which is coming tomorrow.

I'd rather have the spearpoint and serrated blades.

Scissors on a full size multi don't do much for me - can take or leave 'em.

Unlike scissors on a SAK, scissors on a full size multi feel clumsy to me in use.

I do appreciate scissors on small multis like the Crosscut, Micra, etc.

Another thing to consider. Big tools are expensive, and scissors are usually the 1st thing to wear out so it's probable that there's plenty of MT's out there with a useless implement. I want scissors on something less expensive. Replacing a $20 Super Tinker is a lot cheaper than replacing a $40 Spirit. Of course you might be able to fix them, but I can't. I'm not good with small things. I'm too fumble fingered. And yes, I do have issues going pee.  ;) You could also ship them out but that can be expensive too.

I've been carrying and using my SURGE!!! for a long time and the scissors aren't anywhere close to wearing out...

I can understand preferring not to have scissors on a MT, especially if you carry a SAK with scissors.

I am a huge fan of the Spirit scissors though, and heartily recommend them to anyone who like scissors on their MT.

Yes, scissors are intrinsically more delicate than 1-piece implements, but the Spirit scissors are very tough and better built than most, and should last a very long time.

Vic has a lifetime warranty anyway, so they will replace or fix your Spirit if they do ever fail. It only cost me $8 to mail a SwissTool to them. I could have sent it much cheaper but I wanted tracking and insurance.

I love the Spirit scissors because they are so strong. I have used them to make precision cuts in materials much too hard for Wave or Vic scissors to handle.

Everyone has different preferences, but if you like to carry scissors, I think the Spirit scissors are hard to beat.

I hear you,I only buy from them if I have to.
We have no mom&pop stores anymore because of walmart.
walmart is the cheap place to buy when they first come to town but
after they run any competition out of buisness they raise there prices. >:(

Regardless, given equal usage I bet they'll wear out before anything else does. It's simple really, things with moving parts will wear out before things w/o moving parts.

couldn't you use a dremel to sharpen scissors that get hard use on a multi? I'm sure they wouldn't be as sharp as right out of the box but it could give new life to your old tool.
