Thanks, Chief and also thanks to all of you guys for your concern and for your prayers.

Here's more pictures and some updates. The death toll nationwide is already 51. 50,00 residents of Manila and the nearby provinces were evacuated and many are left homeless. There are still many areas under water and rescue operations are still goping on.

The total inches of rainfull poured in Manila in only 6 hours was equivalent to the total inches of rainful for one month during wet season.

The death casualties now reaches 75. Rescue operation by the Armed Forces, Red Red Cross, National and Local Goverment units are still going on. I hope that there will be no outbreak of deseases after this calmity.

Here's a video taken during the height of the typhoon.

Boss, we're back in our house since last night. As of 5:00a.m. this morning, my wife and kids are still cleaning and trying to salvage some things. It's good we hired househelps.
I was surprised my car started in just a click! But the seats and carpet are all soaked up emitting a not so good odor. :(

In behalf of my wife and kids, I thank you all guys for the concern and prayers.

Multimat, yes the 2 people got to safety. I reside on another island about 600 kilometers away from Manila. We also experienced strong winds but the rain was not as heavy as in Manila.

I just watched that video...wow. Talk about a natural disaster.

Well I read that the death toll is around a hundred or more people. Likewise, the damage must be horrendous. I am happy that everyone is safe and sound and that there is only damage to property Teofilo. My concern would be the sewage etc that that water brought up from the sewer systems. I know from watching the flooding in Louisiana from Katrina, that many of the houses had to be torn down to bare studs due to the contamination.

Keep safe and best wishes.

While I'm still concerned about everyone else in your area, I am very glad to hear that you weren't in the worst of it.  It's good that you have managed to get back home, but please be careful.  Sewage and the resulting illnesses are always serious concerns and I hope you nor your family are taking any chances.  If something can't be properly washed, get rid of it, or contain it somehow, even if it means you have to strip down your house and rebuild many of the walls.  I don't know what your insurance situation is like, but it's got to be better than getting deathly ill after surviving the flood.

As always, our thoughts are with you- please keep us updated, and Eddie, thanks for posting the video!

Death toll now more than 100. Another typhoon may hit us again on Thursday. Overwhelmed by the devastation caused by Tropical Storm “Ondoy” (international name: Ketsana), our national government on Monday sought aid from the world community.

Commuters wade through waist-deep floodwaters.

A boy is lifted onto the roof of a building to escape the flooding in the Quezon City suburban of Manila . Nearly a month's worth of rain fell in just six hours Saturday, triggering the worst flooding in the Philippine capital in 50 years, which stranded thousands on rooftops in the city and elsewhere.

That was my initial impression too, but then I remembered during the last hurricane we had, we enjoyed the light show from all the transformers blowing up.  My guess is all those lines would be pretty well dead long before the water got that high.
