Radio Shack Leathermans...

Was over in Ohio today and found an early Leatherman E4. I don't know if this is a mistake or not but it doesn't say Leatherman on it.





Now all I need is one in the blue package and I'll have all the radio shack leatherman variants.

The lack of Leatherman on the handle is a new one to me; the RadioShack back home has two ELs still, but they both say Leatherman on them.

When the E4 first came out in 2003 it was made exclusively for Radio Shack, in red only, with no Leatherman logo. (your package on the right ALP) Then in 2006 it became a regular catalog item, produced in red, blue, and gray. (package on the left)

I have no idea if the EL at my Radioshack has the green or blue backing. :/

Right across the border in Marietta. Theres no more there.

See if its in the blue packaging I need that one to complete my collection.

Also the bomb defuser and the warrenty voider are made for MAKE. I plan to get those next.

Whats strange is the package shows it with the leatherman logo and the radio shack logo. If you look closely in the pics you can see it. Was this a mistake on Leatherman's part and then they corrected it later on? Also has anyone seen one in the green package with both logos?

It looks like the Bomb Diffuser logo was just etched on by an aftermarket company.
