My sister got me some hobbit feet for Christmas, figured I show them to you.

Made by a company called Vibram Five Fingers, these are the KSO Trek model. They are extremely comfortable and are great for the barefoot "experience" without actually being barefoot.

My wife is in a book club and one of the books they read was called "Born to Run". It went into a lot of detail about barefoot running and ultra running, like 50 miles at a pop! Ok, now, I don't run or anything but the stuff about the shoe industry and various foot/ankle/knee related injuries kind of peaked my interest. They mentioned these crazy "shoes", and I thought why not give them a go. Now, they aren't cheap, these run $125.00 USD. But they were a gift sooooo it's cool. :D

But I tell you, they are comfortable.

I think they're great - not sure I can cope with something being between my toes though, or I'll definitely get some.

I was skeptical about that too. However, the material is a stretchy nylon material and isn't very thick. It's really not all that noticeable.

They certainly look 'interesting', and I mean that in a nice way, I can't stop flicking back to have another look at the pic.  I can well believe that they are comfy. :tu:

It's funny how comfortable they are. I have been wearing them for a couple months now. It's almost hard to wear regular shoes and boots anymore. I have had a few people stop me and ask about them. But nobody has called me a freak, well ..... not to my face anyhow. LOL!

I have another pair I wear outside a lot. My Black pair I call my gorilla feet. Hahahaha!

So far I have not stubbed my toe. But since the rubber wraps up a little I don;t think it would be that bad even if you did. Size 17, hmmmm not sure hobbits get that big. :D

quote from site

YOUR SIZE CHART ONLY GOES UP TO 12, AND I'M A 13. CAN I STILL WEAR FIVEFINGERS?
If you look closely at our size chart, you will notice that the numbers printed across the top of the chart refer to your foot’s length in inches, not US size.  We found that, due to the precise nature of the FiveFingers fit, the most accurate size translation was in inches, not US shoe size (which varies across brands and styles).
FiveFingers can fit up to a 12 inch foot which roughly translates to a size 15.  In order to find the right size, please measure both feet from heel to longest toe with a ruler in inches and refer to our size chart for the right size.

darn the luck!

those are cool looking :tu:
