Duck and Goose season is here!!!!

That time of year again. Waterfowl season!!!!. I didnt get to go out today for opening day due to a funeral but looking forward to tomorrow and hope to post up some pics of the days take.

I did get a heater for the blind today to take the chill out of this unseasonably cold weather we have been having. I bought a Big Buddy heater. I am impressed with it so far but the fan could have been a little better.

Bummer you missed the opener RM :-\ It must have been traumatic to hear that thunder in the distance this morning and not be a part of it. :(

Trust me we only kill what we eat and we love eating wildlife...we usually pool all the meat together from all our hunts of the year and then have a wild game fry in the summer.

The ones on the front are the killed birds the ones in the back on the trailer our the decoys we use to bring them in.

In case folks didn't already know;
The Canada Goose population in midwestern North America has exploded well beyond historical levels. With plenty of agricultural fields to feed in and no natural predators, geese have reached nuisance levels in many areas. Most geese do not even bother to migrate any more, finding plenty of food and open water year round in the same local. Despite liberal hunting seasons and bag limits, their numbers continue to increase.

(Not that we hunters are complaining particularly) :angel:
