I have often wondered this. It does seem odd.I am however convinced that the Squirt S4 was supposed to replace the Micra, but they had a change of heart because people wouldn't stop buying them!My guess therefore is that rather than producing a pliers-based Micra, the Squirt was intended to be just that, but the original Micra didn't fizzle out the way they hoped. The Gerber Clutch, Mini Bear Jaws, Squirt P4 and a few other tools demonstrate that the concept works after all!
I can see getting rid of the useless file on the squirt and putting in a vic classic style scissor for the best of both worlds.
Is there enough room to have pliers of acceptable strength in the Micra handles?

I guess it was their attempt to colorize them.

They never did really get it right.I took this one the other day, and you can see the painted, polycarbonate covered and the anodised aluminium covered attempts.(Image removed from quote.)I agree, the stainless model is the best
