Spork Mod
on: November 08, 2009, 07:58:01 PM
I have this weird urge to mount a P-38 onto the handle of a spork...

Not only would it open cans...but it would act as a rim hook to keep the spork from slipping into the pot.

I've actually been using this as much as I can. It's been working out well, though occasionally it has been slightly awkward due to the length of the spork below the P38.

I somehow managed to melt the tines of the spork a little  :ahhh I think it was either when I was frying up Hot Links in a canteen cup or poking at the fire in my Hobo stove. This has me thinking of making a metal version. I have some USGI spoons with long pointed bowls I'm considering modifying into sporks.

Great mod Spork, did you use steel or alumn. rivits??,and you might use a dremel with metal cutting disc on your next mod on the USGI spoon.

Those are steel 4-40 screws, I drilled and tapped threads into the handle.

I have a lot more control with saw and files than with a Dremel :P
