Abnett's done some really great things for the black library in the past few years.  Warhammer 40K - one of the few hobbies I know of more expensive and addictive then collecting sharp and shineys.

Gosh yes!  I first read his, and his partner Lanning's, work in a comic called Majestic, sort of a Superman knock-off.  Their skill at writing science fiction and characters in such a world knocked the socks off any real Superman stories I'd read in a while.  These days Abnett and Lanning are writing my favorite comics, Guardians of the Galaxy and Nova.  I can't get enough of their stuff.  (That said, I have not read any of Abnett's Warhammer 40k material, and I need to fix that!)

I have a collection of Wonder Woman comics going back to about 1963 and loads of other random stuff that caught my eye over the years. Sandman, Hellblazer, Heavy Metal and Preacher being amongst my faves
