Firefox prob...can anyone advise??
on: December 05, 2009, 08:45:36 AM
Hi all,
Me again.  Can anyone give me an explanation as to why my right mouse button won't work on webpages opened with firefox now?  I just did their 3.5 upgrade thing tonight and discovered that my right mouse button won't work.  I was on photobucket trying to copy some links to pics to post here by right clicking and it wouldn't work.  I can highlight, hit ctrl c and crtl v to copy and paste but why won't my mouse work?  It works in IE and everywhere else including the web address bar (i don't know what that's called, sorry) in firefox but not on the pages.  I can't even right click to copy and past text in this message.  Any ideas?  Thanks.
Incidentally, since I want to use firefox exclusively since I'm having major issues with IE should I erase IE from my computer or just leave it alone?  Thanks again!

probably best to leave IE alone, just make FF your default browser.

might want to try cleaning cache and whatnot, this will help: http://www.ccleaner.com/

I'm using 3.5.5 here and have no problems right clicking... so that seems strange...

seems the yahoo toolbar is probably what's causing the problems...

For those of you who have installed (updated to) the new Firefox 3.5 and have problems with using the right click (the contextual menu not showing up) the solution to fix this is to get rid of the Yahoo Toolbar.

I'm still annoyed that they've not returned the ability to click on a tab and then use arrow keys to flip back and forth between pages.  It's been /several/ updates now and it still hasn't returned.

And on that note, yeah, there's really no need for either Google or Yahoo toolbars, since the multisite search bar is standard in Firefox. :)

Just use Control / Tab - it's quicker!

Well I wish I'd known that before, haha.  Thanks, Dave. :)

I hate bloated toolbars...i really hate how THEY try to shove a toolbar where the sun don't shine everytime you try someones free software/email.  Yeah i know it costs to run software and they need advertisement dollars..... :P
