I have some of the blue loctite that comes in a red bottle . Its very good stuff but you have to heat the screw up to undo it .

I know they make different grades of the stuff... (permanent, non-permanent, etc)
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

When i was still doing Leatherman maintenance i had a big bottle of red Loctite 2440, complete with the dosage system you see in the picture.

The stuff I got is "Grade : 932". It's NATO issue stuff though, so doesn't have the commercial label.

It works though :)
I used to come here a lot.

I think Alcohol, Tabacco and Firearms should be a convenience store, not a government agency.

Kwakster did you need heat to undo 2440 ?   I use Loctite studlock 270 which is a red bottle but blue liquid , I find its ok but needs heat to undo .

No heat was needed to undo the locking effect, handtools with a little more force would do the trick.

The main reason we use the 2440 was the relatively fast curing, which helped us to keep turnaround time as short as possible.
There are indeed stronger Locktite versions, but this stuff is more than strong enough.

It doesn't actually need to be super-strong really, just enough to stop the bolts undoing themselves when you open / close the tools :)

Chewing gum would probably work :D

I used to come here a lot.
