Home made mini pocket pocket
on: January 02, 2010, 05:14:56 AM
My wife made this mini pocket pocket to my specifications from cordura type material.  She sewed piping along the top two edges to prevent fraying.

I carry it in my shirt pocket and it eases the transfer of EDC items among shirts.  It measures 3 by 4-1/2 inches -- large enough to accommodate EDC items, yet small enough to stay hidden inside the average size shirt pocket.

I like it parnass. Good way to keep stuff organized and not floating around in your pocket.

Wow, that is just too weird. I'm having a small custom pouch made that exact same size. Mine will have a zipper though. I'll post some pictures when it's finished.  :tu:

Thanks for all the comments.  The plastic pocket protectors popular in the last century made your chest perspire on hot days and the plastic eventually split with use.   They often had a large external flap bearing an advertisement and looked a bit tacky.

This woven mini pocket pocket can "breathe" and it remains hidden inside the pocket.

The blue tool in the photo is a Commando Precision Screwdriver set, as shown here.  It is made in USA and I bought it at Radio Shack when the Shack was closing them out.

You can view some variants at Amazon.com.

Well that is a lot more durable than any vinyl commercially bought pocket protectors I have worn in the past. I eventually gave that up as part of my lab coat as it was more of a hassle then is warranted for daily use.

Good job!

Great pocket! I love home-made gear!

I googled pocket protector (for my brother is an IT nerd and geek) but shipping prices are insane. Still funny ;)

Yep. they are not an european thing, I think, or japanese (I looked for one in Jap, when there, in convenience stores and office suppliers)
I've been looking for one since... boh, "revenge of the nerds", and even on ebay, I got no luck.
I think I'll bite the bullet and buy the one eodtech linked (I love the "the spoon doesn't exist" very, very, very nerd sign)
