Inexpensive, powerful single AAA light
on: December 20, 2009, 05:55:18 AM
I got this light from a trade with Eddie:
An Akoray K-103. Powered by a single AAA primary or rechargeable, at first I can't believe that it can emit more than 100 lumens of led !

Very nice shot Gene. It is brighter than Fenix LOD. I love that light.

I just got two for my friends. They are very nice, and my friends seem happy.

how long does the battery last at that level?

and, why the electrical tape on the pocket clip?

Looks to be a rubber coating to prevent scratching of the metal tubing (and may help keep the light from sliding around where it's clipped)

I've heard great things about this light.  Thanks for the pic, it's the first time I've seen one.  It's a good looking little light.

30 minutes.

Is that considered good?

Also, how hot does it get?

For a 1xAAA light I am satisfied with 30 min runtime.

Warm only.

Gene, were you able to compare the beams of the ITP and the Akoray? I think the Akoray has a deeper reflectdor and has a more focused beam as compared to the ITP.

You are right, Ed! The Akoray's tint is also warmer.
