Surefire Saint Minimus
on: January 20, 2010, 09:52:37 PM
Here is something that I didn't even know I wanted until I had it. I picked this up in a trade and it is beyond cool!

http://www.surefire.com/SaintMinimusHS2-A-BK

I'm going to keep this in my Maxpedition Fatboy for the times that I need hands free operation. I looked at the regular Surefire saint and it was too big and bulky, but this one takes 1 CR123 battery which is perfect for my needs. Anyway, check out the specs in the thread above.  :tu:

That is really nice & looks like a real handy outfit. 100 lumuns is near blinding light output. Are you going to use it for spelunking? Looks like it would be real handy in exploring caves.

Armchair warrior? No thanks, I like to brand my furniture thank you very much. Lazyboy warrior I am. :D

As such I don't need no stinkin' headlamp! I can appreciate them though! Oooh, purdy.

I still can't get over CR123 lights though... ick.

That being said I usually pick up hands-free accessories for my lights and stuff... just in case.

Just don't see CR123's too much. That and I already have a ton of AA's and AAA's, rechargable or otherwise.

And the whole "go anywhere to pick up extra batteries" thing. And I have caddies for AA's but not for CR123's. =P

The whole idea of standardizing battery usage for all electronics I guess?

It'd just be hassle for me to branch out!

Come on John you know the Frog  ::).  My guess is that he would actually have to BUY CR123 cells himself, where AA's and AAA's he can nab from other peoples remote controls.

I agree that it's a little pricey. I probably never would have bought one at that price, but like I said I was lucky enough to trade for one.  :tu:

I have one made by Energizer and I paid something like $10 for it and it works just fine.  ;)

True, and the quality is outstanding. The factory is about 60 miles from me which is really nice. I still need to go there for a factory tour.  :tu:

Love surfire. I have 2 G2led well only 1 now the led in one died but I got to figure out what head it will get, but headlamps .... I dont know. I had one in the past and kept tripping because It tookmore coordination than I have to walk while wearing one. I know it is wierd, but I just look around too much so it never has light where I really need it. Aimed at my 2 left feet.

I think working on something in the dark would be ok. Walking or Cycling I have no clue. In a dark root celler it woud be a teriffic light.

I've got one to Johnhttp://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,14043.0.html :pok: and I like you never knew just how useful a really good headlamp can be. I use mine around the house all the time. I'm really jealous that you live so close to the Surefire factory. I would love to visit it one day.

I like the packaging of the Saint Minimus ( ala Zebralight), and I like the low "low" mode, but IMO it either needs a medium mode or a lower high mode.  Something in the 30-60 lumen range would be nice to improve runtime.

Well can you just set it roughly at 30 or 60 lumen's for increased runtime, after all it's range is 0~100 lumen's
