Style CS pics!
on: January 22, 2010, 07:41:12 AM
Ever wanted to see a Skeletool shrunk down to the size of a Micra?  Well, here's the Style CS!

It's a neat little tool- I liked it quite a bit and it may finally be the one that knocks the Micra off the top of the heap.

The scissors are identical to those on the Micra/S4- why mess with a proven design?

The Style CS is slightly thinner than the Micra, but it's also slightly longer.

Here's more pics without comment- enjoy!

So...the big question...does the blade lock in any way?  A lot of European Happiness rides on your answer.

I dislike the Skeletool...but all the reasons I dislike it actually *work* when you shrink it down to keychain size.  The built-in 'biner actually solves a few carry problems in that regard.  Love that long filedriver!

Thats great news .As it will often be on full view on peoples key rings a lock wouldn't be a good option over here . This looks like a fantastic little tool , Do you know the price yet ?

As an added bonus, the CS comes equipped with the best tweezers we've seen out of Leatherman so far:

Couldn't be any worse than the Micra's opener, could it?

Wonder if there's any room to stash a Vic toothpick in that thing...

I've liked the look of the Style & Style CS since their pics were first posted.  Now I like the Style even more.  It sort of looks like a direct competitor to the Micra.  I hope Leatherman doesn't stop making the Micra though.  It's too much a classic to stop making.

Here are the dimensions, I got them from a Leatherman catalog yesterday.

Style CS:  Closed Length:  2.98", Blade Length:  1.6", Weight:  1.45oz

I'll probably buy one since I collect Leatherman but the absence of screwdrivers means it won't get much pocket time. Glad it doesn't lock for our friends in the UK. I don't really care on a tool this small. Cool design and I bet they sell a lot of them.

what is wrong with the micra's opener? it works fine.

I've never been able to get a bottle open in less than two pries with a Micra, usually takes three.  Narrow tool tends to make only a small portion of the cap lift, and leaves a big divot in the cap.  I guess I'm just spoiled by my Vic opener, which hasn't taken me more than one pry evah.  Then again...weak-ass American beer caps, perhaps.  Whenever I drink better imported stuff, it's usually at a place where a nice young person brings it to me and opens it with their handy churchkey.

Of course, the only time I tried to open a bottle with the New Wave's "Bottle/can opener" I managed to punch a hole in the cap instead of opening it...  :drink:

If you look at the Squirt handle, it has the same bent metal tab as this one.  it's just an over center "lock".

Making it look like the skeletool was interesting.  I don't think the style of it (pun intended) would have done anything for it if it wasn't plagerizing teh look of the skeleltool which over so well.  I hope they aren't spawning a future product line of Skeletool Mutants.  Sounds like a dawn of the dead scenio.   Bwah ha ha.
