A bit of potential progress
on:
February 01, 2010, 10:32:45 PM
Well, in a couple days I have an interview for a job. Actually my second interview. I did a telephone interview last week. It's for a data entry position at the North American HQ for a rather large (okay, huge lol) company. My G/F works there and has been helping me try and get in. It's not exactly the most glamorous job on Earth, and probably about the most boring (I did data entry once before years ago, my brain almost turned into a puddle), but it IS a job. You know, income lol. It's also not goddamn retail. Ideal? nah. But it is a good first step in the right direction. Honestly even if I don't get the job I'll still be happy; it's the first time in months I've even manged to get an interview. That alone at least gives me a small amount of hope that I'm not completely un-hireable.
I'm also getting my tax return in the next few days. My heart sank when I saw what my total income for the last year was. Most of you probably make more than that in a month. I'm serious, trust me. The return is gonna be enough for me to get caught up with my car payments so I can actually keep the thing, fix the overheating/coolant leak problem (my ghetto-rig glue job stopped working lol), and maybe, just maybe get the license plates renewed before they expire at the end of the month. That would be helpful.... Problem is renewing your plates in Illinois now requires that you have proof of insurance. I don't because I couldn't pay for it any more. If I don't get this job I still wont be able to, but I have to at least pay for a few months or something so I can get the car legal.
So it's not the ideal situation, but things are at least slowly but surely starting to sorta move vaguely in the right direction. My life is still screwed up as Hell right now, and aside from all the money related issues, my life has developed some other complications that are pretty tough to deal with. For once though I feel like I may actually be able to see the bottom of the hole and start thinking of a way back up.
I also want to say another thank's to all of you that have given your help and support to me through this. I can say with sincerity that if it weren't for the help and words of support, I would be in a far worse place than I am.

Good luck in getting this or another job mate. We all go through tough times at some point, life is a bitch sometimes. Sounds like you are starting to make progress though. You sometimes just have to keep plugging away until it works out. You will get there though. Let us know how you get on

Good news bro! This is the first step in getting your life together, and this might not be the dream job that you are looking for, but, at this moment you got to take what you can, I had to do it with the job I got now. I am not the praying type but I will send you some positive thoughts and hope that some of my luck will transfer over to you.
Keep us updated and good luck!
