Trading away NIB stuff that you'll never use?

Lets say you have something NIB, it's not something you collect but it's too nice to use so will likely stay that way. What would you do, keep it or trade it away?

I have a s90v/CF military and a yang (which I may use eventually) that's like that. They are too nice for me to use, plus they are discontinued and going up in value. I thought about trading them away from something I'll use, but if I do it's very likely I'll never get one again.

Generally, I would trade it or sell it, but the fact that it's discontinued changes things.

I have a couple of NIB discontinued multitools spare atm (i.e. I have duplicates in the collection). Whilst they are not particularly valuable right now, I figure that their value will increase in time, so I'm holding onto them. If I got the right offer, or could use them in a trade for something special - they'll be gone without hesitation though.

Yeah, plus the fact they are already hard to find, so replacement would be almost impossible.

I think it depends what kind of collector you are - I can let things go for something I want to use more, but then I don't buy to invest really.

I trade or sell stuff I no longer use or don't plan on using...just think of the stuff you can get if you sold that Spyderco...
