That pic was taken at SHOT 2008, the first one we went to.  :D

I missed the tour by about an hour.  If my connecting flight from Houston hadn't been delayed, I could have made it.  :ahhh

The factory store is small, but very interesting.  The back counter has LOTS of various spare parts.  There are baskets around with discounts on discontinued items.  The S1, S2 and S3 lights were plentiful there as were Genus and Vista tools.

The top case had various Tim Leatherman prototypes out for display: (Trying to shoot towards the sun, and through display glass, made this a bit of a challenge... :-[)

First tool:

Second tool:

Third tool:

How much were the Genus and Vistas?  I remember a couple people on here wanting them; plus, the Serac-series does seem to be seen favorably, too. *nods*

That first prototype is ummm, "rough" isn't it. :-\ :D

The old PST sheath looks nice, do they ever sell these or was it just a concept?

Well, once inside, I was hoping to score the first of the new tools.  Sadly, they weren't available.  When I asked, they informed me that the new stuff will ship the firdt of May... :(

However, per request, the first thing you see when entering the factory store, is a case of Argentum Leathermans...

For DaveK:

Haha a $12,000 EDC :D

Thanks Nate for thinking of me - which one did you get me?

Print out the Leatherman coupon online.  It's worth 20% off!  ;)

That's less than $10,000 for an EDC!

Superb isn't it? It was called "Mr Crunch" if I'm not mistaken, and really symbolises what Tim Leatherman achieved, and what my fascination with their gear is all about :)
I used to come here a lot.

From the sign in that picture:

"the reason I have a soul is because you put yours into making me"

Something about that is both inspiring and yet sounds sort of evil.  Are those workers just zom-bees who are forced to place their souls into multitools?  Maybe someone had to give up their soul for my charge and is now in a soulless eternity, whilst their soul lives on, repairing things, and achieving further enlightenment.  When I die, my soul had better become a leatherman.  What better way to give back?

Come on guys lets sign over our souls to the big guy in oregon!

Nice pics Mr. Whippy.  Let's see some more shots of the inside of the retail store.  :ahhh    I wonder if workers can customize their own MT.  Like put S30V blades on a Wave.  Remember when someone accidentally found one like that in a store?
