Rayovac Solar LED
on: February 28, 2010, 01:07:18 AM
Just picked up one of these before I went to the movies (is there a better place to try out a new flashlight?)

From where I was setting some 50+ feet in front of me was the exit so when they asked you to locate your nearest exit I fealt
obiligated to shine my new LED on it.

Now mind you it didn't cast a brillant white light on the exit but it actually did reach the area (which really surprised me).

Since I own two Citizen ECO drive then I figured I can try out the solar powered lights also.

This one gets two  :tu: :tu:

My only experience with solar lights were too cheap to last.  But this does look better than my cheapies.

Question:  How long does it take to recharge the batteries while it's in your pocket?    :D

I don't know I use my INOVA 2AAA LED to recharge it,  ::)

I just got it a couple hours ago but it recharges with any type of light.
So I figure it lays out on my dresser for a couple hours then rides in my pocket for the rest.

I kept the receipt (I think) so if it doesn't work out it can always be a "give away" later :pok: :D

LOL, that was the first thing that popped into my head as well. :D  However I guess if you take your keys out your pocket when you're in the house then it'll get a charge then. :)

I'm interested to know how you get on with it Swiss Man. :tu:

Sounds like a nice light. How long to fully charge it in sunlight? Whats your guess on lumen output?

Well been carrying this for two days and have to say I am still impressed.

As far as lumen and recharge time I have no clue.  I have been hanging it on my belt holder so it is always getting light.

It works well in a dark theater without blinding people, it won't get any awards for power and brightness but it works for what it is.

Not much of a review just buy one and try it out. ;)

I can't locate them on the net. Anyone know of a site that carries them? What is the approximate cost? Thanks!
