Wife's care package
on: February 28, 2010, 12:54:05 AM
This last week my wife went on a business trip to the BIG city so I figured it was my DUTY to prepare her a care package.

So out came the small pistol case and in went:

1) Walther P22 w/extra mag
2) Leatherman Skeletool
3) Victorinox Climber
4) INOVA 2AAA LED
5) Lighter

I think I covered a lot of areas just not all of them ;)

I know I know ;) but a .22 that she will carry beats a .380, 9mm .38 .40 etc... that she won't carry.

I carry a .38 five shot Charter Arms even though I have a Taurus PT99 9mm (just too big, frame wise) to carry under shirt.

I agree.  Now at least swap it for a Kel Tec PMR-30 ....... .22 magnum handgun with a 30 round magazine........I bound to hit something with 30 rounds.

He wouldn't get in the box without his tractor, and it wouldn't fit in the box.

No, because going to the big city the climber's scissors will be far more handy. :D

I have to say that if I felt I needed to arm my wife to go somewhere, then I'm not sure I'd be at all happy about her going there in the first place. :o

It does seem a pretty comprehensive list though.  The one thing I do check my wife has when going away is a little FAK, even a few band-aids can come in real handy.

What case are you using? Is it just the case that came with the pistol?

Whole kit looks good  :tu:

I think it's a Plano single pistol case. I picked up two at a local second hand store for $5.00 each.

The one that came with it was nice as far as cut out areas and such but the hinges where bent plastic (which I hate).

Its funny, when I go places where there might be trouble, I'll actually take LESS knives, so that if there is a bit of a blue, I won't be the one with a smoking gun, so to speak. (It's probably an interesting study - being more worried about dealing with the law, than dealing with personal injury.)

That said, I like how it all packs into the case, it's practically james bond.

Why a lighter?

Even thought I don't smoke I carry a lighter with me at all times.  Find it too valuable to leave at home,

The real reason is,  I had plans to visit and spend the night with her and I was thinking candles >:D

If she's anything like my wife it's good that she even likes that. My wife isn't really into guns but she does have a Beretta 418 that she likes. It's only a 25 acp but she's pretty good with it. Certainly better than I am with it. It ain't a 45 but I figure 9 rounds of 25 to the face would at least slow down a bad guy.
