Anybody know this knife
on: March 02, 2010, 07:07:12 PM
I want to buy this knife but it doesn't look right to me as I have not seen one like this,I'm not sure if its 84 or 91 mm,have one of you maybe got one of these.(I'm talking about the nick for the awl on the front of the knife)

Rest is not idleness,
and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day,
listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky,
is by no means a waste of time

That'd make it a Wenger. :P

Still looks a bit off though that may just be the angle...

Yeah, it looks like a Wenger Commander (hard to say though).

Definitely a Wenger but the shield is missing from the front scale.

You know there's something I don't like about the nail nicks.  The one for the awl doesn't seem to line up and the one for the cap lifter just looks to be the wrong shape (circled) . :think:

I flipped the image over and it just looks funny.  What I took to be a nail nick could be a lock release (arrow), but if it is then it shouldn't be sitting like that I think.

I'm also pretty sure I see a saw as well so I'm wrong about it being a Commander.  I now really want to see a pic of all the tools fanned open. :D

PS I will add that I'm really not good on Wengers so I might very well be totally off target.

So much about that picture, as has been pointed out, is a little off. I also would like to see how this one pans out.

I see.  Well I'm sure it's not a Victorinox, but I can believe it's a Vectorinox. ::)
