Okay, Reading this thread again I realize that the red arrow picture does seem to explain this phenomenon. It's the blue circle picture that I'm disagreeing with.

But now I realize that it (blue circle) is a stop point just not the kind of stop point I was thinking of and it may also explain the phenomenon.

so

I'll shut up now... except to say that the Original Wave is the "pinchingest" too I own.

There must be a slight difference in the stop point on that one. It wouldn't take much of a change there to result in the handle-closeness differences you are finding.

Yeah, I think you got it now. :salute: The "stop" point I was referring to with the blue circle is where the plier jaw opens and stops against the handle sheet metal.

Sometimes it takes me a while to catch on. There's some good information in this thread that has caused me to study my TTI a little closer. It's a remarkable bit of engineering isn't it. Even if it does hurt on occasion.

attack of the month old thread reviver!!!

Whippy, I just wanted to say that I sympathize with you.  My new wave was the most annoying tool in the world with that pinching crap.  Except mine got my thumbs because that is where they rest when I am doing some precise work.  The edges are coming less and less deburred on these tools as well so I shaved many layers of skin with the spine of the knife blades.  Needless to say I am now Wave-less and have acquired an ALX thanks to Dennis.  I love this tool, I think it will stay on my belt for awhile.

And as for Bens girly hands, I will leave him alone... :D

Also, what happened to the sweet pic of the powercutter bob?
