Citizen Eco Drive Sky Hawk A-T
on: May 14, 2010, 02:47:14 AM
Just picked up this beaut today at a local estate sale.

I only have one complaint about it the bracelet is WAY TOO SMALL (whoever owned it was small).

I went to the interactive menu and it took me about 45 minutes and more then one try to reset this puppy.

It is radio controlled and eco drive so it is pretty much maintenance free.

And here is the best part.    They were asking $125.00 but since it has a small scratch in the crystal (have to look at it just right) and the small
bracelet I offered $100.00 and they took it. :pok: :tu:

I have wanted one of those for a very long time.  I have girlishly small wrists...I use the last hole on a Maratac extreme.  I would be happy to take it off your hands anytime you are willing to part with it.

Dang, that's a nice watch for 100 bones.  Busy, but very nice.

This is my third Eco (still have all of they) they are unstoppable.

Like them better then auto's because you can put them down for quite awhile and they are still running when you pick them up.

I've been meaning to try one.  I like the low maintenance of my Casio Waveceptor solar for the same reason.  If I could find a nice one like that for $100, I'd be all over it!

The Skyhawk AT is a great watch, I've owned one for about a year now and it's been trouble free. I happen to have two links with pins that I had removed that I won't be needing. PM me your address and I'll drop them in the mail as they're not doing me any good(if you don't mind trusting a newbie with your address :D)

So got this beaut on the 13th.  Did a total zero and reset (took like 45 minutes and two ties). Don't laugh unless you have done one. :pok:

Next morning I noticed that the day is right but the date is wrong, thinking that I set it wrong I reset it (just the calendar) that is when I noticed that the year was set for 2016.

Thinking that I mistaken a 0 for a 6 (old eyes and tired) I reset it and went on with the day. Got home that evening and read under the FAQ's
about Skyhawk A-T "Why does my watch say 2016 for the year?"

It seems that 2007 (the only year with the problem) was a bad year for the programming for the calendar setting of this watch.
So today I shipped it back to them (they paid for UPS) they are reprogramming it and sending it back about 2 weeks.

Still a great deal for what I paid and to top it all off they are sending me three extra links for the bracelet.

Would I suggest a Citizen Eco Drive to anyone YES I own three they are all great.

It was a Trojan, sleeper, millennium bug (very crafty little devil)  ;)   All I know is I miss it and I didn't even have time to bound with it. :bnghd:

Not as flash as yours, but here are my ECO Drives.

The one on the right died, so I bought the one on the left. Then it came back to life again

I swear that it did. I'd had the one on the right for years and it ran without a hiccup throughout. Then in October or November of 2008, I was meeting my now boss for a clandestine interview before work, as I'd heard we were all getting canned within a few weeks (which was true). I arrived at the meeting place early (we'd arranged at meet at 7:30am I think it was), glanced at my watch and it had stopped :(

I read the manual, left it in a sunny place for a few days as suggested and nothing, nada, dead :(

So I had a bit of redundancy money a few weeks later, and a new job to start in January, so I treated myself to the one on the left. Not long afterwards the old one started ticking again, so now I have a choice :D

My first Eco was a Perpetual Calendar given to me by a friend that owns a jewelry store (I helped him moved the store over a three day period).

I had to send it back and they replaced the movement (wouldn't hold or keep a charge).

My second was a Diver (no trouble out of it at all).

I had an Eco-Drive for a day.  But, I gave it to my father-in-law cause he wanted a dive watch, and he and his wife were going to the Caymans for his birthday.  It was also a way to say thanks for letting us live here for a year.  Thankfully we will be moving out and into our new place July 1st.
