MAG XL 100
on: January 09, 2011, 01:30:32 AM
I got a Mag XL 100 for Christmas and this thing is awesome.  I'm no expert on lights and I do question the use of AAA but it's not bad at all.  It also fits perfectly into the 4" Maxpedition flashlight holder  :tu:

I was wondering why these aren't available in many stores along with the other maglites?  My local Target used to have them but now they seem to have disappeared.  Are they just in high demand or are they phasing them out already?

Hurrah, someone who agrees with me

It does have its shortcomings but don't most things? It can be a fancy dancy flashlight with all the bells and whistles and motion technology or just a solid, powerful light  :tu:

If they can improve on some of its 'flaws' the next version should be a treat  :D

I'd like to see a factory (not second party) clip and lanyard attachment available for it.  I always feel more comfortable carrying a small flashlight/camera etc if it has a wrist strap of some sort.

sorry this is a dud in my books
owned it for less than a day, I really did not like the motion controls.
sure i loved the functions, size, style, power, all that.
sorry to hear it may be phased out tho, shame, same light with out a motion would be a nice second version.

I vote still goes to the nite ize IQ switch upgrade.

Peace

I believe they started to retail for £50 - £60 in the UK  :o I wouldn't pay that for one; not even sure it is worth that much  Think they are down to around £40 now :D

I still stand by the fact it is a solid light and great play for Maglite to enter the 21st century of flashlight technology  :tu:

I too would like to see either a pocket clip or lanyard hole. Also the option to tail stand and some kind of anti roll body. I also think the actual controls could be worked on. They difficult to see in the dark if it is your only light. I know when I first got mine I was trying to turn the tailcap, turn the red button, all sorts  ::)

For an 83 lumen light I am very impressed  :tu:

Edit: after checking something on the Maglite site I found their new XL50  :tu:

Sadly they missed a chance to really improve on the XL100  :-\
