london- electrical shop
on: March 12, 2010, 07:59:49 PM
i hope everyone is okay, i havent been posting on the forum for a few months been really busy at work.

i dont know how many uk members work, live or visit london, (if any), but i found a little electrical shop today in brewer street, w1 (just of regent street in soho), and it had a small sak selection in the window, so i wandered in, when i got through the door into the tiny broom cupboard of a shop my jaw hit the floor .
the shop had 3 large display cases full to the brim with saks(including a brown jigged bone handle) and wengers ,the full leatherman range (knives, multis, keychain, and the garden tools) and also a cabinet full of folding knives. and some gerbers and other makes.
the prices were also very good as well £70 for a new purple xe6.

i have never seen all the leatherman collection toghter, in a shop in or around london.
just thought id let you guys know. its definetly worth a trip if your near the center of london. (and also just up the road is a sweet shop that sells all the old sweets from our youth, choclate tools here i come :)) .

Its not bad edge holding , I'm used to working with 420 or 440 and quite like soft steel .I think to be honest I'll keep hold of it but in the future I may get a ukpk rescue as well .

I found H1 to be about on par with AUS8 in the edge retention stakes.  Nice steel.

You find Brick and Mortar Gold in the strangest places . I found a place that sold lots of really crappy lugage in Vancouver . I was in looking for a cheap duffle bag , found a very comprehensive display of SAK's . Scored a Staglo Climber, and my first Spirit .

Found a similar place in Oakland California , huge collectin of SAK's and Leatherman tools .

There wee a couple of really trashy Surplus stores in downtown Toronto , had huge mumbers of SAK's including some now very hard to find models . Needless to say , I wish I had loaded up .

Chris
