Bring out the


I get the visibility concept. I understand it might be good if dropped on the ground in the woods or the like. But I just hate the looks of it. It seem that here and on various other forums people go nuts for orange, orange knives, flashlights, backpacks, watches, ... I have a hatchet with a orange/black handle and that's somewhat ok in general (and considering it's actually being used in the woods), but I feel no love for orange. It just pains my eyes. :ahhh

Orange isn't my favorite color by a wide margin.

But I had a bad experience with a camouflage flashlight in the woods. Since then, I'd prefer high visibility over wth colors I 'like'. Because I LIKE green. That's not much more help than camouflage. :D

You feel the same way about yellow (particularly the neon safety yellow), or just orange?

To be honest I'm "new" to orange, and recently got into it purely for the visibility aspects (I'm a bugger for losing stuff). To be honest it's not my favourite colour either - but I've found that it's very practical. Apart from the watch and Vagnino knife in my recent orange frenzy, the other stuff won't be getting regular use. I mainly got it for when away from home, particularly out walking/camping where visibility matters most.

That said - I carried my orange hard case wallet yesterday at a wedding function out of town, and I have used my Case Scout Jr around the house for "testing" purposes (can opener, bottle opener etc). My Vagnino knife is brilliant because it doesn't look as tactical as other OHO clipped folders, and it's very deep carry too, so that's had quite a bit of use. My Fuse-ilier mod ... well I have worn that on my hip a few times so that it could get some "try out" time - and not needed it  :P

Truthfully - if it wasn't for the visibility thing - I probably wouldn't own anything orange either  :)

Don't get me started on camo :ahhh

I don't own anything in camo and only a Ladybug H1 in yellow. Not my favorite colors/patters, but I hate orange more. :D

i got a skeletool in Orange but the paint only lasted a week or two, now it's 'Orange camo'  :whistle:

That's just it. I'm not prone to loosing things. In the last 4 years or so I lost in total: one itp A3 and one IMCO Streamline.


OK. I lost a pair of pliers inside a car while installing a radio a few years back. Never found them. :think: Still troubles me. I sold the car last year so that will remain a mystery forever. ;)

Orange was my favorite color before orange was cool. BUT I do have a certain dislike for orange because I have Orange/red hair that resulted in a lot of teasing when I was young.

Like every red blooded young man who discovered the joys of older women, red & black are my favorite colors.

Orange is brighter, often not seen in the world much (too many haters), and is rather hard to lose when applied to items - like say a lanyard. It is great for an enhancement of other color combinations. There should be more orange in the world. Vibrant orange makes a statement!
Looks best on Monarch Butterflies, but I do recall a few lasses clad in orange corduroy pants that drove me nuts in high school. There is not enough orange, but too much can ruin it just as fast.


Myself I cannot stand the taste raspberry or cherry due to all of the artificial versions in just about everything under the sun. Occasionally I will eat some, usually when there's not much choice and my tummy is running low.

Ahhh, I love orange!!  I'd even paint my Jeep orange (hmmm  :think: ), and I'd kill to have the orange SAK syph just made!  I don't know what it is, but it is one of my favorite colors!  My wife doesn't really care for it though, which makes liking it even better!  :ahhh

Red is my fav color, but based on the number of people that asked me if I could do orange scales on SAKs, its pretty popular.  :D
