My name's Ray, and I'm from the Wirral, NW England.

I've been lurking around here for a little bit and finally signed up. I would like to thank everyone for making this such a great and friendly place to hang out.

Ok, so how did it all start. It was the mid 80's and like many a teenager at the time, I was into knives and all sorts, and had a Rambo style cheapo thing (bought after seeing the film). Anyway, I bought a magazine that had a feature on knives. The author had a survival knife, and had replaced the sharpening stone in the knife sheath pocket with a Leatherman PST. I remember thinking that it was a cool looking item, but could not afford one at the time.

Fast forward to 1997. I was involved with a drama group doing back stage work and thought how useful a multi tool would be. I ended up with a PST clone. The first time I tried to undo a screw with it, the screwdriver bent. So, I went out to buy a 'genuine' tool, and ended up with a Gerber (MP600 size but no locking tools).

This served faithfully until 2001 when I rediscovered Leatherman. I ended up with 2 Waves, and have been adding items since.

My current collection (all users) comprises:

2 x Vic Spirit X
2 X LM Charge Ti
1 x LM Kick
1 x LM Skeletool
1 x LM Squirt P4
1 x LM Micra

I also have a couple of knives:

1 x Spyderco UKPK
2 x Vic Huntsman
1 x Vic Climber


I am also into flashlights and have models from Surefire, Fenix, Jetbeam and Olight.

Yes but there is a Climber and a Huntsman which makes a lot more sense. :D

I can't say I am a collector or big user of a swiss army knife. I have a few as they are sheeple friendly - everyone is familiar with the red handle.

They are Jetbeam Jet I Pro V3's. One has a Cree R2 emitter, the other a Cree Q3-5A.
