I've got my 2 Swisstools from Tim "Felinevet" yesterday, here they are along with the Swisstool I already owned.

I am now an official Swisstool member.
Was always curious about these and got a good deal on this and I gotta say I am impressed so far.
The tool selection is good and the tool access is easy and smooth, ie: no LM clumping.
It feels solid and sturdy and it is very nice that it can be a mini square in a pinch.
I really doubt that this will dethrone LM as my go to plier MT but it won't hurt to give this tryout.

My Spirit found it's long lost big brother. Looks like a '97 standard model. This one has not seen any use unfortunately, and will continue not to for now, I'm still trying to wear out the Spirit (as if).

I wish that Victorinox will continue producing plier based Multitools. Two is not enough, we need pocket, keychain and OHO models now!

It would be interesting to see what they could do with in the smaller range plier based tools.  I'd like to see a Juice sized or bring the MiniGrip back.

Yes. I would love to see a Victorinox keychain tool with pliers, like the Leatherman Squirt but I doubt they would ever make one since they already have the rambler, classic, mini champ, etc.

I would love it though.

I think if Vic could figure out how to make the Spirit a little lighter without sacrificing functionality or durability, and figure out a pocket clip setup and maybe a OH blade, they would put the competition out of business.

 :)

On the other hand, it's perfect as is.  :P

My SwissTool has never been used.  I'm just afraid to scratch up such a beautiful piece of workmanship.

My SwissTool has never been used.  I'm just afraid to scratch up such a beautiful piece of workmanship.

You'd be surprised how well they hold up.  I bought my first one at the fleamarket and it was very well used.  It had a broken serrated blade and was caked with crud.  It did not open smooth nor resemble what I had seen in pictures.  Once cleaned and oiled it looked amazing and while still a bit stiff due to the broken blade pushing against the other tools on that side it works great.

I still carry and often use this tool and yes it has scratches and the red paint is long gone ( I removed the remaining parts ) it looks gorgeous.  I'd imagine one would have to slide this tool down the pavement to trully mar the finish.  Maybe drag it behind your vehicle?  I'm confident that this tool can and will stand up to day to day use and the occasional hard use it may see.

So go ahead put it on your belt and enjoy it  :pok:

Also DO take it out and thrash it some, the functionality of SwissTools enhance the beauty.  :)

I'm in.  My local outdoor superstore is closing for a refit and is still selling off everything at a 30% discount, including multis.  I'd already picked up a Spirit Plus for just over £60, now I snagged a Swisstool (plain blade + scissors) CS Plus kit with bit driver, leather sheath and corkscrew for less that £60. It's a monster - really solid and hefty - I don't think I'll have it in my pocket often.

Nice haul! But forget the pocket, it looks like you're ready for a Batman style tool belt for all that hardware! :salute:

i bought my swisstool way back in 1998.
used it for everything, cutting bread and reparing my old volkswagen beetle for years!
last year it realy gave up, one side didnt lock anymore, serated knife wasn't serated anymore, pliers couldn't cut anymore and screwdrivers were blunt...

so i bought myself a leatherman charge.
nope, not my knife, way to much play in al the movements..
so i bought myself a leatherman mut.
tried it for almost a year...
nope. i like the one hand opening of the knifebut its to big, hasn't got the tools i want ( once used to a strong crate opener and a file and you don't want to lose it anymore...)

so i brought my old, dying swisstool to the dealer and he would sent it to switserland.
almost two months later he calls me.
tool is back!
EVERYTHING is new!!
plier, knifes, screwdrivers, everything!
the only thing the did not renew was the outside of the handles so i still can  see it'my old tool!
i'll never gone switsch again, that's for sure!
