hi guys
my names paul or dingo
i live in western australia
and work as a driller one of the toughest job out there
my thoughts on the leatherman core
this is my first leatherman (all my other multitools are the crappy cheap ones)
this is my first thougths of a leatherman
so be gentle with me ;D
ive been wanting a leatherman for about 10 years but always thought they were very pricey for what they are
so i was looking on ebay for a good multitool
and was thinking about getting one
so went to bid on the leatherman core but got outbid at the last 5 seconds (dam e-snipe)
but i was thinking maybe i shouldn't get one posted as i dont know how australia post will handle the multitool maybe they wont let it thru
so i bit the bullet and went and bought one from my local camping shop
i was looking at them all , but the core kept getting my eye
so i beat the guy down $20 and got it for $170 instead of $190 and all a tax write off as i use it for work.
i paid $110 cash and put $60 on credit card so the missus dont relise how pricey they are and kill me for buying it
it also came with the leather sheath
well i was driving to work (which takes 2 hours to drive too)
and i couldnt help hold it and feel it and boy i tell you it weights a lot.
i was thinking how the hell am i going to carry this thing on my hip all day at this weight
i couldnt wait to get to work and have a look at all the bits
when i got to work i got all the knives and the other gear out of it and boy are those knives sharp
and im most impressed with the whole tool
i love it
well i couldnt wait to get to work with it
so up i got at the usal time to go to work which is 5:00 am
straped her to my hip with just an atlas strap as i didnt have a belt
but after about 2 hours it had broken my belt loops with the weight
but it was raining so theres no drilling today
so we went to the hardware as a needed a new belt for my CORE as the core was now just in my pocket
so got a realy good leather one just to compliment my leatherman
so we hang around camp wondering what to do
so a few of our chairs need fixing around camp so we got some glue and went to work on them i said to my offsider we need a srewdriver but then i remembered i had my CORE so she helped put the srew out and back in again
the screwdriver was great
also we needed a knive to cut the top off the glue but i had that covered with the CORE and she just sliced straight thru it with out a problem
so we moved onto some bigger chairs and the had some dowel sticking out so out came the CORE again with the saw this time and she just ripped thru the wood
im loving this tool
as far as i can see this CORE and me are going to do heaps
i love it
the tool it self is very weighty but in my field which is mining most things have to be ready for the job and built tough
so hopefully we can give her a run on the drill rig and she how she goes
but for my money im always buying a leatherman from now on
and it also looks like a got a new hobby collecting these tools
thanks def
i will get some photos uploaded as soon as i get home
hope i didnt bore you too much and i hoped you enjoy my little review
