Hey Davek-  in your link, what is the light next to the blue Mag?

It's a Tesco special!

For the money they're hard to beat.  Too big and heavy to want to EDC but great for a car/toolbox.  My local tesco only has the 2xC cell now, but there used to be  2xAA and 2xD cell versions as well.  Might still be around in other stores.

On my off day from work(night shift), I go for a brisk walk to release some energy and carry a homemade nightstick for a measure of protection.  I've been jumped before so I like to be prepared. I know its not exactly a good idea to carry a nightstick for legal reasons so I've been meaning to look for a light that doubles as a CLUB >:D but my 4D Mag is too big and not too bright :-\

I'll prob start a new thread for this, but I am liking that Tesco :tu:

If it's any help to you the Tesco light is 7 inches long and weighs in at 12oz it also comes with a belt pouch.  Personally I'd call it a bit small for your purposes, I'd maybe look to at least a 2xD myself.

Just thought i would share a few opinions one this light.

overall i like it a very bright light in a tiny package, makes a good cycling light.

Few things i don't like though

gives no warning its going to die, super bright one minute dead the next. I dont like the way you get turbo mode up- by twisting the end i think id prefer a separate switch, or have to hold it down longer. Finally i dont like the sheath or pocket clip the light doesn't fit in the sheath with the lanyard on it and although the pocket clip is very good it scratched the finish on the light.

apart from this i love it :) lol i probably made this light sound bad but it's not  :tu:

You don't need too, as it's all ready set up for both a reasonable throw and spill :)

Have you got a smooth reflector, or an "orange peel" one?
