That's amazing considering they are not supposed to be released from SOG yet....

I ordered it just to see what would happen,I realize the situation with sog.The price was reasonable and if it puts me on a list to get one when they become avaliable I will be happy.

I think I might pick one up when these things pop since everyone is stark raving mad for them. I still don't see why they're so darn good though. The pliers just look big and bulky and fat.

Already posted this pic several months ago, but I thought a copy of it would fit in this thread nicely. :)

If the quality is the same (or better) than the old Micro Toolclip, I see the removal of the serrated blade a plus.  Instead of a miniature version of the Freestyle (pliers and blade, effectively), you now get a bottle opener, file, flathead screwdrivers, and maybe more.  Looks like a big improvement to me, personally.  Well, not to mention that the pocket clip is placed correctly this time. :)

Exactly..  :tu: The file is much more needed than a serrated blade imo..  :)

A file is far more useful than a second blade on such a small tool IMO.

That said, the Micro Toolclip leaves a lot to be desired as a viable tool IMO.

I want a pink one though. :D

Honestly, is there ever really a time where you can't just carry a pocket knife and a SAK, or a MT on your belt, or a Skeletool or Freestyle type MT in your pocket, or a.....

seriously, I can't place the SOG into a useful category in my mind. It looks like a cute novelty but nothing more.

What's novel about it? Is there ever really a time you need more than pliers, a knife, and a flathead screwdriver?

Doesn't the freestyle, in fact, have three less tools? ::)

First off that design of MT has been around since 1900 (at least) so "novelty" is a stretch

And there are many time when I want one tool, with just a few tools on it. and if it had a pen on it I would say this tool would git the bill of what I want.

You could always go the route of the Swissgrip and add surgigal tubing, or a Ranger band and slip a Fisher bullet pen up against the pliers handle. ;)

I'm saying, yeah sure it looks cute and we all want one in pink but SAKs offer more utility in less space, except maybe for proper pliers, full size MTs (or even Juice size MTs) offer WAY more utility in equal or more space, regular folders offer more knife for the size, etc. I'm having trouble finding a situation where there isn't a better option than this tool. If you honestly want to carry just one tool, trying to travel light and compact, why wouldn't you get a Juice?

You are missing the point of this tool markn951. This is more of a nostalgic tool. Collectors will gobble these new ones up right quick. Not only that, but there is a cachet of semi-exclusivity when you carry one of these as not everyone carries a SOG, let alone a micro ToolClip. And for some people, that is important.

With a little luck, I will have talked myself out of wanting one by the time they show up :D

Actually, the reason these are being re-released (as the story from SOG goes anyway), there's an employee at SOG who refuses to carry anything else.  In a discussion with Spencer Frazer one day he mentioned there were no other tools like it available, and it was the best tool he'd ever had, and wouldn't carry anything else.

So, with feedback like that, what can you do?  You have to re-release it!

As for any word, there is a little bit of a peep coming soon, but you'll have to talk to Travis for details.

Hope one of the employees at Leatherman get to missing thier sideclip.  Of all the tools discontinued in 2004 I miss that one the most.  I got several before they disappeared of the shelves.

Wow,  I'm honestly disgusted by this.  I have children that have been drooling over these since the first day we saw pics of them,  they still ask me about once a week if they are out yet.  They are very excited to get their first SOG. It being pushed to Dec tells me they wont even be out in time for Christmas.  They've missed the release date how many times now?  No reason to believe they wont miss the new one as well.  SOG you've really aggravated me. I've been using your products since the early 90's and you've never aggravated me as much as you have with this. My kids and I are really sick of waiting for this.  Why announce release dates if you don't have the ability to meet them?
