The Dart was originaly a slant six car and was owned by a friend of mine. He pulled the 440 out of a chrysler imperial with the plans of putting it in the dart. Well, he had the 440 built and yanked the crapped out slant six out of the Dart but a few days before the install he found and bought a Dodge little Red Express pickup and it ended up with the 440 and I ended up with the Dart. The cool thing is he had already installed an 8 and 3/4 inch rear end in the Dart in preparation for the V8. That's ONE less thing I'll have to worry about. Now the sad part: Between my daughter's braces and saving for her education, it's gonna be a while before it gets some serious attention.

340?

As hard as 340's are to come buy, it will more than likely be a 360.

i can get you a good 340 x heads and all its in arkansas though. I had a 73 duster with a built 440, that thing was a handfull on the street. Manual brakes and steering, it was rough!

Jim Guy, that's a cool charger! Here's a sad pic of the Dart. Thankfully the body is straight and practically rust free.

Thanks for the awesome welcome, guys :)

Gday too you Robo & welcome mate  :tu: :D :D

This is my departed Mopar :( :cry: :cry:

Australian made VC Valiant with the leaning tower of power. I miss her but could not afford a hobby car  :( :(.

My DREAM Mopar , instead of the Hemi straight 6 have a 426 V8  :gimme: :D.When i win the lottery  ::) :D :D
BTW it is an Aussie made Charger. In race trim E49 265 Hemi straight 6 with triple Webers it was the fastest accelerating production motor car in the 70's when it was brought out.

I do not think many were exported  :think: so that does not surprise me.
265's are fairly common ,factory V8's less so. But they are really picking up in value now  :( :(.
10-15yrs ago you could get a really nice one for $2000-$3000aus. Not unusual for them to go for over $10,000 now & genuine E38's/E49's can go for over $150,000  :o :o :o.
