Well I've been wondering how the lock mechanism for the handle implements worked on my Octane and got a chance to find out today. After a week of daily carry and light use I pocketed my Octane this morning and noticed it felt different. Took a look and it seems that last night the plastic lock slider at the end of the top handle had come off. I remember bumping a doorway with my hip last night (being the clumsy oaf that I am) which is probably when it happened. Found it by checking the pocket of yesterday's jeans - fortunately with the screw still in it.
So I spent 15 minutes this morning looking for my torx set (yes, I need to get organized) and headed to the office. Half an hour of fiddly work, including installing the thing backwards the first time and removing it again, have given me a good understanding of the lock mechanism...
I tightened the screw on the other handle and checked all the other ones on the tool while I was at it but they all seemed good to me. Has anyone else had a problem like this? Anyone have suggestions for me (never used loctite - would it be appropriate for this? Does it damage plastic, would it gum up the slider mechanism?)
Still really want to like the Octane but I don't quite know...
