Don't say I didn't warn you.... the faint of heart should not click this link.

You may never view the world around you the same ever again.

"The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you."

OK, how much is the diamond Memebership then? I want in!!   :ahhh

I've got top level access, and it says pretty much the same thing to me... so guessing topic 1 was too much for public consumption and deleted in the early days... that or a default "welcome to smf forums" sample post when software was originally installed...
The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

Here's the oldest page web archive has: http://web.archive.org/web/20060902012003/http://forum.multitool.org/
It seems that was a time where only existed SOG and Leatherman specific boards.   :D

Yes, I was against a SAK forum on the grounds that it would compete with SOSAK, I didn't feel there was enough discussion to warrant a Gerber forum, the Outdoor forum hadn't started, neither had the Axe Hole, Edged Tools, Events, Shutter Shop, Gadget Freak or a couple of others.  We started out with only a handful of forums and the rest just evolved naturally.

For example, Events started out as the SHOT forum as we opened it specifically for coverage of the 2008 SHOT Show.  Eventually it became the Events Forum because we had coverage of BLADE, some meetups and other events worth talking about.

Actually it was a trick question/post... Topic 1.0 is indeed the "welcome to smf" post by default, so it probably got deleted shortly thereafter.

Or was it? :pok: :P

Welcome to the new Forum Software for Multitool.org.  Please bear with us while we set things up here, but in the meantime feel free to post and test out the options that are available to you. At this point, I welcome any comments and suggestions as we build the new forum into what we are hoping will be the best independant multitool reference source in the world!

Arise thread from deepest MTO past :D

I admit, I checked a couple of times to see if it was Jim who brought this one up since he asked me about it a few hours ago!

Yeah, I'd say we succeeded... back then I didn't think too far forward, so I'm not sure I ever planned to look back on it ten years later!

This blew my mind a little bit. I went back to the first post, and the "6" at the end of the year tricked me into believing this was a new topic. As I scrolled down I'm like "it looks the same!!! What gives?" Clearly, my attention to detail is lacking

It's great to see some of the old names on a thread like this.  Lots of people I miss, and even cooler to see a few names of people that are still around.
