Got this from Justin at pockettoolx, they said they will have a forum screen name on here sometime soon.

"I've attached an image of the laser nozzle tool that I mentioned, this one is probably about 10 years old."

They really are going the extra mile to show us they are totally original and not derived from someone else's work. I applaud their efforts, I wish I could make a pocket tool and have the idea be original.  :D

I also wanted to add this, when I first starting talking to them I wanted to know how their company got started.....

MK7 Designs is a Seattle-based firm that offers design, engineering, prototyping, and product development services.  We also have our own machine shop for production and prototyping.  Prior to starting MK7 Designs in 2009, all of us had worked together on various projects over the years and at several different companies.  Our backgrounds are heavily rooted in manufacturing, engineering, industrial design and product development/prototyping.

Our first company project was our own "brand," PocketToolX (We now currently have several clients at various stages of product development, but we must keep those company's name confidential until their products have been launched).  PocketToolX was created out of the necessity of our team always working on things mechanical, building/constructing things or just general tinkering -- we always carried a good knife (As a side note, we almost exclusively all carry SOGs) but didn't always have a tool box nearby or were we willing to carry a heavy multi-tool such as a Leatherman.  Thus, we began the process of developing a slim and lightweight pocket tool that we could carry with us everywhere.  Two weeks later the Piranha was born.

We have nearly a dozen products in development right now, with the release of a few scheduled for later this month along with a new updated website.  The rest, if released (we don't plan on releasing them all) will come in the Spring of 2010.
