Amici,
If you're not happy with any of the stock sheaths offered by Vic for their line Swiss MT's, I have recently purchased a Maxpedition 4" flashlight sheath for a little R&D and I have to say that this is another example of the superior workmanship offered by the folks over at Maxpedition..
It will accommodate either a Spirit or Swisstool perfectly with little or no wiggle room which to me is a big plus. The construction materials are top notch with allot of thick Velcro for security so there are no real worries of Velcro funk or the possibility of easy deployment if the sheath becomes accidentally snagged or tugged open while moving through thick brush or any other tight spot that could result in your sheath deploying and your MT flying off to la la land..
It also comes with elastic side loops that can carry either a penlight or some similar object, a nice drainage/open plier head hole with a steel grommet on the bottom, and a simple yet rugged loop to the rear that also has additional loops sewn in for other item carry.
Although Maxpedition offers a variety of sheaths, most offer the ability to go tactical which some users seeking a top notch sheath may not need or really care for..
This model works perfectly with standard belt carry and rides on a belt similar to a stock sheath on the hip with no annoying chaffing or rubbing, and just like a Maxpedition sheath, no backaches due to weight concerns if you wish to carry a full sized MT like the Swisstool..
For those of you who want a traditional secure nylon sheath built like a battleship but without all the bells and whistles that most of us love for their MTs, A Maxpedition flashlight sheath either in 4 or 5 inches in overall size may be your best bet..
Cheers,
Serge
