SAK tool sub questions

On a normal Vic, how hard is it to substitute an awl for the hook? I'm considering FrankenSAKing a bit. One of the changes would be to get rid of the opener layer and small blade and sum it all up in a combo tool. However, I use the awl *a lot*, and losing it would be a major PITA. Conceivably I could get rid of the phillips/corkscrew and have the awl ride in that hole, but I'd rather not as I want to use factory Plus scales. The hook looks to be very similar in width and pivot circumference, but I've never had a chance to compare the backsprings.
On a similar note, will the Wenger backspring awl ride anywhere in a Vic? It's a lousy awl, but probably the best electronics poking device I've ever used. I've pried apart radios, kid's toys, XBOX360s, computer equipment...just tons of stuff that rely on tabs to lock them together. If not, would the small Vic backspring flat screwdriver make a fair substitute?
Thanks,
S1

Well, lead balloon that one, eh?
A weirder question...Alox awl. If the contact point where it rests closed on the backspring were altered, would it fold underneath an inline Phillips driver, replacing the magnifying glass? I know getting it back out would be unique, but I'm still thinking on that.

About your original question, I have no idea. If you can get Neil's or Scibeer's attention, they should know. About the little screwdriver, are aware of the small screwdriver that fits into the corkscrew? It is great for small things. I used it to adjust pins on my G-Shock bracelet.

I have read somewhere that the Hook is wider than the Awl and will only fit with some grinding which is not easy. Some say it is actually better to just grind off the Hook tip and sharpen it to make it an Awl/Punch. I am not a modder but have read plenty.

I've decided to forgo subbing the hook anyways, as I received a Compact, and the nail file on the back of its hook would be too good to lose. After much thinking on it, the most lose-able tool on the set-up I'm thinking on now (practically a Yeoman) would be the magnifying glass, as I never use one. So I'm trying to figure out if there's some way to stick an awl in that space short of making my own out of sheet steel.
Oh, and I've got the corkscrew driver, yeah
It's just that the Wenger awl-poker is considerably longer and stouter, and just the right size to poke into a variety of objects. I recently completely disassembled an XBOX 360 with only my Swissbuck and a couple of Torx bits, so I decided to just stick that particular Wenger in my manbag instead of trying to pidgeonhole it into my FrankenSAK. It has made me consider making a bit adapter for the Swissbuck though, like someone else on here did with JB Weld...then I'd have an XBOX kit that would fit in my pocket

I think I've just about got this worked out...maybe. I think with a little modification that a scissor backspring will work fine with the saw (the saw will take a spacer as it's narrower than scissors), which would allow me to have a slot on the back that would fit the awl. The awl is also slightly (really slightly) than the hook, but I think I can slightly bulge the liner next to the awl to get rid of the rather negligible wobble.
Get to keep the magnifier in the process.
