It seems when I watch Survivorman, I always assume that he is sponsored by MEC (Mountain Equipment Co-op), since most of his layers are MEC brand, and everything he carries you can get there. I wonder

Might just be that it is the best gear stores in Canada :tu:

1. Cutting garbage bag to make shelter
2. Opening one of those "survival in a can", after the pull tab broke off  (how suck would that be if you had nothing else to open the can?)
3. Pull skin off a snake. Looks like a Gerber, I'm tempted to say Flik because of the round ridged pivot.

That's all folks, at least all that I can get a half decent screen shot of.

Great post!! I see only one mistake, in the "South Pacific" episode, this was the only time that he used the Leatherman Surge, you can spot it from the overall size of the sucker plus the size of the scissors.

Also, he used the original Wave in Costa Rica and also in a few other episodes..

At the beginning of the show it was almost always a Wave. Later he switched to a Swisstool, and the most recent episodes I've seen (which may not be very recent...) he has a Charge.
Besides those, I think all the other tools he uses are just on one or two shows when he is trying out a new tool.

That's just what I've gathered.  :P

I know on Les's website, www.lesstroud.ca he has posted an interview that was done with him and when he is asked repeatedly about what is his favorite MT, he states that although he doesn't really have a preference, he did seem to really like either the original wave or the charge tti, which are the two that he seemed to use the most throughout the entire show..

Personally, I'm suprised that Les never teamed up with either Leatherman or one of the other MT makers and come out with his own line or endorse an existing one. But that what makes Les really cool, he doesn't seem to be in it for a quick buck, all the endorsments he has done be it a clothing line to a fire piston (which are very cool) all tend to be great quality products..

Cheers,
Serge
