I have a Fatboy , very impressive piece of work , but I always seem to overstuff it . Played around with a fella's Fatboy Jumbo , I think it's for me . Will take my Zeiss Conquests , and water bottle when I go on walks , plus my other EDC crap .

Been there! I got the Jumbo and haven't regretted it so far (although I still have the Fatboy in case I decide to go back) ;)
I used to come here a lot.

In all seriousness there are a lot of applications where I don't care for Kydex . Just for openers , it scratches the hell out of furniture . It has it's applications , and can be inexpensive to produce ; that said , it's got limitations too . One annoying feature is that it's rather noisy , both on the draw , and in wear . Deffinately not a good attribute in holsters , and some tactical light carries .

I'm an amature student of material science , and sometimes I play around with stuff just for the hell of it .

Oh I agree it's not a very "kind" material at all :-\

It does have it's place though :)
