What is a V cutter used for?

I am new to this multi tool thing and my Sog Powerlock has a v-cutter in it.  What is it used for and what can it do?    The only thing I can figure out so far is a letter opener.  I was thinking it could be used to cut a seatbelt in an emergency, but that is what a rescure blade is for, correct?

be good for opening parcels too and yes it would work as a seatbelt cutter, but with the v cutter there s no risk of cutting who or whats under the belt, unlike with a knife

The "V" cutter can actually be mounted on the outside of the handle for emergency use such as cutting  a seat belt

Can be used to cut string, twine and small rope

Probably could be used to remove a wart or cutting out nose hairs - ouch.

SOGs says seatbelts and cord, but I use it to open plastic bags

Stick the V cutter in ice first it'll make the wart/ nose hair stand up

Thanks for the help.    I learn by asking questions.    I did use the V-cutter to open a leter today and it works fine as a letter opener.
