Benchmade 555HG Mini Grip

This thing is pretty freakin sweet! Sharp doesn't even begin to describe the edge on this knife it's ridiculously sharp almost makes a razor blade seem dull, and the action is just greased up butter smooth with the AXIS lock. I wanted needed a blade that was sheeple friendly and under 3" and with the smurf blue scales I don't think anyone will think its tactical or weapony. The only problem is I don't think cheaper knives are gonna do it for me anymore  :D

hey great, looks good.  I just bought my second benchmade and it's a griptilian as well but
with that x-15 steel.  I like your shape of blade though and with that nice round hole it
will be a really nice performer for you I'm sure. :tu:

There's a fair amount of variation in these Mini Grips isn't there?

Mine has the D2 blade, and if it were legal to EDC it in this country, I would chuck my UKPK back in the toolbox :)

There have been a TON of variations of the Griptilian and Mini-Griptilian - I've got one in 440c here... somewhere.

Edit:  Here's a page to peruse - some of the many, many different Griptilians and Mini-Griptilians that have been produced - http://mysite.ncnetwork.net/reswwwum/index.html

Thanks for the link. Mine looks closest to the Cabela's exclusive one pictured, except mine has the combo blade, and as you can see in my pics has "556" on the blade, not 551 as stated there

The 555 and 556 denoted the Mini-Griptilians (Sheepsfoot/Opening Hole and Drop Point/Thumbstud, respectively), while the 550 and 551 denoted the full size Griptilians.  Like I said, there have been a lot of different versions of both - I've yet to find a page that lists them all - the Benchmade product page lists only the current versions of them, not the older, discontinued versions in different steels.

I totally agree with you Dave - I'd carry one in a flash if I could  :-\

They have a great quality feel about them. Why don't Benchmade made something for us?  :pok:

Good point, with Spyderco, CRKT and Boker all making multiple slippy models you'd like to think a Benchmade slippy isn't to far behind.

I had the same problem with a Mini Grip, upsized to a  Rukus 610 and a Skirmish 630

Why do I carry a 45 ?
Because they don't make a 46 !

I don't think it's going to be long before I finally cave and get one of these bad boys... :twak:

However, I must say I don't think "BM" is a good choice for an abbreviation...   ::)
