Thanks in advance :tu:

In a word, fantastic.  It's my favorite headlamp, and I own 3 of them.  Get one.  This lamp has overthrown the Princeton Tec EOS from the top spot and relegated the EOS to backup, glove box duty.

The beam is pretty much pure flood, so it is mostly for close to medium distance.  That is exactly what I look for in a headlamp.  If you need to throw light at a distance, pair it with a handheld torch.

I prefer it to the newer models with the click switch (H501), as the twisty switches such as on the H50 are much more reliable.

I have 2, love em.

I would recommend you order directly from Zebralight so you can get 2 special options:

- "b" which is a narrower beam optic (80 degress vs 120 degrees).  STock optic is very floody, this b option is a little less so.
- Warm/neutral tint.  Much nicer on the eyes and outside use.

Note that this headlamp has very little thorw, mostly a smooth fllod. Good for walking and close tasks, not so much for higher speed stuff and distance use.

Gunga, are those options available on the H50?  I thought you could only get those on the H501.  I do agree that the warm (neutral) tint option would be very nice.

I failed to mention earlier that I find the low level perfect for reading at night.

The H30 is currently on my wishlist (which is mostly flashlights orientated at the moment!), and the other Zebralight headlight I have is excellent quality.

Reviews are very good from what I've read so far  :tu:

It's the flood that I look for most in torches anyway, so I went for the standard model, but thanks for the advice anyway :tu:

Um, you get a nice even flood with the 80 degree (b) option, the nomral is 120 degrees.  I guess it covers your vision but I found it too floody.  Can reflect off glasses too if you wearthem, but they provide a black rubber glare shield that I quite like.

BTW, they have fabulous glow in the dark brackets.  Stays visible for hours.

Anyways, enjoy!

I tend to use torches in small enclosed spaces (under theatre staging atm ::)) so I like em as floody as possible :)

I had an H60 (18650 version) that went berserk soon after I received it. Dealer was no help, manufacturer gives zero communication, took 3 or 4 months to fix it. I was so pissed that I sold it right after I got the new one back, and swore never touch zebralight again. It's also one of the reasons I lost interest in flashlights.

I had a problem with my Zebralight H30 that I bought directly from the Zebralight website. Sent them an email and they sent me immediately a new one and requested the one with the problem back when I received the new one (I wasn't a day without the light!). They also offered me to refund shipping costs, but I was too lazy to bother about that  :ahhh The only bad thing I can say about that is that I now have a light in a somewhat strange color (some kind of ugly bronze) and not the black one that I ordered. I am totally satisfied with my light and the service they offer.

Call me crazy, I like the weird "bronze" shade of true natural HA.  It is a shame that they didn't send a replacement of the same color though...   :-\

I've heard lots of stories of problems with the click-switch models on CPF, but very few with the H50 twisties.  I've had one of my H50s since they were introduced in 2007, with no operational issues with that one or the other two used ones I've bought since.  They've all had much use.

I've had an H30 for quite some time (it's on sale actually... :P). Great little light and looong runtimes. I only had one issue thus far; once I was running it at its max level for like 10' on what I thought was a new battery and it just died on me without any warning. Probably something to do with temperature going up or the CR123A emptying out ???
