Amici,
Although it's been discontinued for a few years I believe, here's a few pics of my SOG Recon fixed blade.. This pattern was originally designed in Japan for CIA and USA LRRP units during the Vietnam War.. They were originally serial numbered and issued to each soldier with the order that it was to be turned in after each successful mission.
The design and construction of the blade was kept secret. Originals are hard to find, but SOG did a great job since they were able to finally access the original specs. It has a stacked finger grooved leather handle with white spacers, 7" blued blade, solid brass handguard and pommel, with lanyard hole. A work of art made for the art of war and ahead of its time..
The sheath was made by Bob Schrap, a skilled Leatherman out of Wisconsin. What makes this sheath extra cool is that it has a small flapped leather pouch with a nickel snap closure for carrying an India grade sharpening stone.
Also it has a leg tie, but what makes this sheath really unique is that the sheath is made for use only by a southpaw..
Cheers,
Serge
