Isn't british TV different form US TV?  I.E., british TV show runs for a fixed set of time, then DONE!  A year or 2 later, if that shows was a success, then a second series is commissioned.

I think Japan and CHina have a similar TV system.

 :think:

Certainly beats the US system that drones on FOREVER!! :ahhh

That system is so bad, if I saw Jerry Sienfeld walking down the street> :twak:
"Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall;
 Some run from breaks of ice, and answer none:
 And some condemned for a fault alone." -William Shakespeare, King Lear (1608), Act IV, scene 6, line 169

This morning, producer Sue Vurtue confirmed that there will be a second series of Sherlock, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. With overnight ratings just shy of 8 million for the final 90 minute episode with plenty more time-shifted viewers to come, it was almost inevitable.

Created by Sue’s husband Steven Moffat and comedian Mark Gatiss, this Sherlock is a modern-day London-set drama that updates the original, using modern-day technologies for stylistic storytelling devices.

The pair appeared on BBC Breakfast this morning with Sue confirming that “there will be more, it’s just a matter of how many and when really”
