Well folks, wasn't sure the day would ever come but today I broke my alox cherry.   There's a '03 Soldier headed my way from Canadia.  It looks like it's in relatively good shape.   I purchased it for $26.  Is that a decent deal?

Looks great, that SI!

I went SAK hunting today, took a walk around a bunch of thriftshops. Didn't get anything. The closest thing was a Chinese Leatherman replica. Ah well, it was a nice walk.

El C, I do think that's a good deal.  They tend to keep their value and I've seen them sell for much higher.  Congrats.

my custom Huntsman from ebay arrived today.  I am very pleased.

the only issue, and it is a minor one, is the saw opening is smooth through about 60% of its 180 degree swing, but the last 40% feels like there is grit inside.  I oiled it up real good, but it still feels that way.
it is not real bad, but noticeable.

it is a pretty SAK though  :dd:

the seller put a small rare earth magnet in the hook, and a straight pin under the hook.  very nice.

I love the lanyard beads.  I always wanted things like this, but they seemed too expensive to me to buy.

If I can help, let me know

I don't know about the grit, but I looked and LOOKED and looked at that SAK when it was for sale, I almost bought it, I really like the looks of it...and even now with your photos I like it even more!  Congrats!  It's a looker, plus I like the clip and the lanyard.

The Safari Trooper that I won on eBay came today in the mail. It dirty and the blades looked scratched on the eBay pic. To my surprise it was new mint condition I could not be happier with it. Only thing is now I don't have project to do.

FB, I think it's like a couple of mine....it's a "Secret Agent Man Wenger"....

They've given it a number and taken away it's name.

ColoSwiss told me the number but I can't find it now....  I'll keep looking!

Update:
From ColoSwiss:
"If it has a corkscrew its a 1 21 03 (Classic 21 ?).

If it has a backside phillips its a  1 22 03 (Classic 22 ?).

My interest is sparked... Clearly not on sakwiki,  gotta be some kind of fishing themed name, I imagine, either that or an early tool chest type of knife.  Just confirmed with my dog, going to research this a bit more.

It looks like Sakwiki is changing as we speak!  Huh oh!

I was going to suggest the "Windjammer"   that's a pretty cool name.  Actually that's the name of my new band.    Collecting SAKs has paid off again!!!!

I try to focus on Victorinox, but every once in a while a Wenger draws me in.  I liked the tools on this, and the size of 84mm.

the correct model number is actually 1.21.02 since it is missing the key chain (1.21.03 would be with key chain).
You can see it in the european 1995 catalog I found some years back.
This was an european model knife.
Be careful, because the names "Classic 21" and "Classic 22" are not confirmed.
