Thanks for the support!! And for El CS's too of course. I need it. It wasn't a 'bargain', not even cheap... So I can show your support to my wife. If she finds out...

Just scored a Salesman & Small Huntsman  :D
Are you sure those are 84mm... looks like 91mm to me...

Congrats on the score though...

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You're better at that than me... If so I'll probably send them back
Hint... 84mm saks have the backtool pivots just below the shield... of course this also depends on the angle of the pic taken...

Easier to tell alox models though... I do hope and pray you get the SAKs as advertised... Those are awesome SAKs to collect and/or use...

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yawl were right, they were 91mms ... Sending back
Darn it... This is one of those days I hate I was right...

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well, at least they're vintage-ish, especially the Super Tinker, still has it's aluminum tipped tweez..... ended up keeping them... not bad for $18

Vic Explorer in camo. My first Explorer and also my first camo pattern SAK!
I guess it is from the late '80: without the hook, scissors with screw and without the track, grooved corkscrew, key ring on liner. It was late night low ball offers on ebay, but i really like what I got.

Flea market find today:

-1985 - 1990 Boy Scout edition Tinker with black scales (yes 90 degree stop for bottle opener/flathead, yet keyring appears to be on its own shim)

-Pre 1991 - possibly pre 1985 - Mountaineer (4 layer, has what seems to be a metal file/saw next to scissors, no 90 degree stop for the bottle opener/flathead screwdriver, a groove running along the corkscrew, NO stupid hook paired with the scissors, screw holding the scissors, snap-ring on a shim).

A little dusty and dirty, but I think they'll scrub up well with some 3-in-1 oil. Both with crossbow and "rostfrei" on tang.

Pics to come later, as I arrived home during 1st quarter and will be watching the NE Pats. Meanwhile, based on these descriptions, am I correct in my assessments? And how did I do at ~$20 for both?

Ha ha. Thanks.

I can debate the value of the hook all day. It doesn't amount to much for me, but I can see that it has as much a following as not.

Seems decent!
I lucked out last year and found a Mountaineer like you described (I dated it around '85) unused for €4! :dd:

Last time I lucked out so far though...

$10 a piece is a good deal for any useable SAK with more than 1 layer IMHO.

Thanks Mech,

Did you really get one UNUSED for 4 euros?! What's that, about $7 USD? Nice score. This one will require some canned air, a toothbrush, and some 3-in-1 oil for sure, but everything works and seems solid

It's about $4.8 actualy :D
Unused. Only some scuff marks on the scales from storage but those were easily polished off.
I kept wondering why he sold it that cheap in this digital age where you can find the price online in a matter of seconds.
